PROPAGANDA THE PERPETRATOR OF SLAVERY IN CHURCH

Sir,

Nothing is more disturbing than seeing churches despising the work of human rights organisations. They fight slavery while some pastors unnoticeably flash away their good work. Propaganda has somehow developed ways to hide slavery in churches. I took time to ask around hoping to know how church employees feel about their jobs.
A majority of them fear losing their jobs than they fear God. This is fuelled by statements such as ‘you’re not in the right place, or you are not here for money, but God’s work’. These intimidating statements are uttered during morning prayers and staff meetings.

Flexible

People are told to be flexible whenever they are made to work outside of their job descriptions. When they ask questions, many receive Sunday sermons that normally revolve around ‘enduring suffering like Christ did and also looking up to God for provision instead employers for salary increases. These guys feel like scriptures are exaggerated and manipulated to oppress and justify the hostility of pastors.

Surprisingly, people are enslaved while scriptures like 1 Corinthians 7:23 state that all people were bought at a price and shouldn’t be enslaved. Romans 5:17 says everyone who is born again should reign in life. When one looks at churches today, it’s convincing that greed introduced propaganda in the church. According to Mark 6:37-45, wouldn’t Jesus practice the opposite of what churches do today? When comparing the lives of pastors and that of their staff, you notice the big gap in terms of finances. Many enjoy life while their employees are struggling in poverty hoping for a reward in heaven. Isn’t that propaganda?

Obedience

Isaiah 1:19 says obedient people shall eat the goodness of the land, but I wonder when are the loyal church employees going to enjoy the goodness of their obedience? Acts 2:44-47 says people enjoyed each other’s company and shared everything according to their needs. But the needs of church employees are taken care of by loan sharks while their pastors have large bank accounts and big storehouses full of donations.
