PICK A SIDE

Sir,

Believe it or not, life is about taking sides. By taking sides I don’t mean choosing good over bad, white over black nor is it about choosing Ronaldo over Menzi, err Messi.

It’s something deeper than that. Through my well done analysis, I hold a strong case with my conclusion about life being about taking sides. As funny and simple as life being as easy as taking sides sounds, it still remains unchanged that is just how life is.

Chose

Looking back in Jesus’ era, Jesus took the Israelites’ sides over the Egyptians’ side; God chose our side over Jesus’s side so that our own sins could be forgiven.

Now getting into our familiar environment, how far can you disagree with me if I told you we are all that we are because of sides we decided to take? Let me make an example with my parents, the side they took ended up bringing a future Balloon D’or winner to life over a side of playing it safe . They choose a side to split than to find a solution to their problems. Drunkards chose a side to drink for whatever reasons over a side to stay away from drugs, vegetarians chose a side not to eat meat over a side of being non-vegan.

Choices

Taking sides is congruent as to making choices, whatever choice or side you take has consequences. You choose a side of being a hard worker over being lazy, you get results of it. You choose a side of excuses over taking responsibility deprives you growth and the lesson that situation had, you choose being unfaithful over honesty you become untrustworthy. 

You can go on and on bringing sides that are opposite to each other that people take, like choosing to deliberately ignore your responsibilities as a parent over being a loving and caring parent.

People take awful sides out there which makes me sick but there’s nothing you can do about it because we also take sides that don’t please other people.
Some choose joining satanism for materialistic worth over the Man who brought them to life, some choose public praise over taking care of their children and some choose being rude over being polite. There are those who choose arguing over understanding, then  there are those who choose giving up over giving it one last chance, there are those who choose changing their sexuality over being straight people.

Special

There is a special place for those who choose trusting God over believing the devil’s lies, there are those who choose giving over being greedy. Before I forget these ones, the one who choose love over hate, the ones who choose being humble over pride. God bless them.
Like it or not, you have seen in black and white that life is indeed about taking sides. All that we have to bare in our minds is that, the sides we take have consequences, sometimes it’s good but sometimes they are bad.
