HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

Madam,

I have found, in hundreds of hours spent with workplace angels, that hope is an important belief that is well put to use.
Hope has its own special place in our value system. lt often is the foundation for faith. For example, because at first we have hope that we will get a good job, hope leads to faith in ourselves and our abilities, which can attract good job opportunities.

Conversely, hope stems from strong faith that the people we work with will produce quality work consistently. We develop further hope that they will stay healthy enough or perhaps interested enough to continue working with us. Hope becomes the blanket that surrounds the value of faith.

Hope can also be born out of truth. If workers choose to share a truth with co-workers and colleagues that they are under no obligation to share, by telling the truth they engender trust and hope among their confidants. Ultimately, they bring hope not only to others but also to the people whom their confidants interact with.

The adage that hope springs eternal is appropriate here, with hope weaving itself like a vine throughout a workplace environment in which people feel they can count on one another. ln a nutshell, hope is a waking dream.
