WHY ATTEMPT SUICIDE?

Sir,

Love is a very natural feeling; no matter how much you may try to suppress it or deny it, love prevails. Unfortunately, with the way things are going; with the way life has become so mechanical and easily manipulated, as long as you keep pressing the right buttons, love is sadly misunderstood to say the least.

I am always saddened by these reports of ‘crimes of passion’ as they constantly prove that we still don’t understand the true meaning of love. We seem to get into a rage and frustration when we feel that our love is not being reciprocated.

Many a times we find ourselves stuck in loveless marriages in the name of ‘love’. We find ourselves going the extra mile trying to make this love thing work for us. Unfortunately, we find ourselves engaging in things that we never imagined ourselves doing, but alas, in the name of love; desperate times call for desperate measures.

Measures

Maybe it would not be as bad, if whatever drastic measures we were taking to ensure that our love is reciprocated worked; the problem is when all our efforts prove to be futile. You have tried all under the sun but it is just not working - this person does not love you the way you would like to be loved.

Emotions

Why is it that we claim to be overcome by emotions and can’t think straight, hence we commit these crimes of passion? Why do we attempt suicide or even entertain thoughts of murder? Don’t we have the power to control the situation? Can we not handle this heartbreak more constructively? The answer is simple; you have all the power to act and react.

Your actions in response to love gone wrong will be a manifestation of your thoughts. You and only you have the power and ability to create your thoughts. For your sake and others; choose constructive thoughts, despite the destructive situation. You are the master of your own destiny; learn to love yourself more.
