ENEMY AMONG US

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

The next perpetrator is among us; the next rapist is currently a blesser. The next culprit probably looks noble and leading a worship team. You possibly have your killer in your pocket; the newest newsmaker may be your relative. The stage is not set but there is too much action; too much drama than accepting an audience.

Some flowers are grown to be peeled; peeled by their growers. Some are abandoned by bees; bees who seem to appreciate them for their own good. A lot and the worst is about to happen; none of us is seeing it.

There is no war going on but there is a hero needed. Needed to redeem unsuspecting victims; needed to save innocent souls.

Needed to disarm the enemy and reposition straying possible casualties. Hero not on a horse, to hold our horses; captain to shout ceasefire. Fire that started inevitably without an order. That very same captain is among us; sober-minded, maybe shy and out of authority.

A brave young hero is among us, with a voice but no platform. Junk is filling all possible platforms, displacing morals of the bored youth.

Change

The youth that needs to change. Change is possible; change is leashed. Who is going to unleash change; changing perpetrators to protectors?
Who are we waiting for? How long should we wait? Who is the hero?

Can’t we all be heroes and heroines? Can’t we save ourselves? Let us end violence, let us end GBV. Let us scrutinize its affiliating laws, let us save the world. You are the hero; I am the hero.
