GOD’S FINAL WARNING

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

In the book of Revelation there is a final warning to us who are living in these last days of earth’s history. “And I heard another voice from heaven saying come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues,” Rev 18:4. This message is more of a repeat of the second angel of Rev 14, but with added power and glory. The voice is coming from heaven, meaning it is a message coming directly from God and He is calling His people to come out of Babylon and it simply shows that it is important for us to find out who Babylon is. The second part of the text reads; “Come out of her.” In the Bible a church is always referred to as a woman (Rev 19:7). Basically, there are two symbols of women representing the church in the Bible. The first example is of a pure woman who ‘keeps the Commandments of God’ (Rev 12:17).

The other woman is of the prostitute and it refers to the apostate or disobedient church. The two female symbols are direct opposites of one another, but opposite sides of the same institutions of Christianity, the different forms of the church in the last days. “So he carried me away in the spirit, into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and 10 horns,” Rev 17: 3. Notice here that this woman is blasphemous towards God. The biblical definition of blasphemy is to make yourself to be God or claiming to be equal with God (John 10:33). The third part reads; “That ye be not partakers of her sins.” The biblical definition of sin is ‘the transgression of the law’ (1Jn 3:4). Since sin is considered by God to be the act of directly breaking His commandments, He is warning us here not to ‘partake of her sins’ or in other words not to break any of His 10 Commandments.

If there is a congregation that teaches its children to disregard the commandments of God; if there is a congregation that has priests or pastors who claim equality with God and claim to have the power to forgive sins, which is what the Bible is referring to as Babylon. The final part reads; “And that ye receive not of her plagues.” This final part of the verse directly tells the world that anyone who is part of Babylon will receive of the seven last plagues that God will send upon the world as punishment for breaking His commandments. To people in Babylon, Christ says; “In vain they worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men,” Matthew 15:3, 6, 9. “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.” And He said to them; “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions,” Mark 7:7, 9. Dear readers, there is no doubt what God wants us to do; the Bible is very clear on the subject. Let’s heed God’s final warning to ‘come out of her’ before it’s too late! “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man,” Ecc 12:13.
