FORMER MPS MUST GIVE US A BREAK

I said it before and I won’t get tired of saying it again.

This letter today is directed to aspiring ex-MPs. I am really failing to understand why these guys think they are the best? I can’t stop thinking about what makes them want another term in Parliament.
The obvious reason is that it’s all about money and nothing else. “Bekunene give others a chance because you had your chance and you failed to deliver to the nation.” We have a lot of candidates with great potential who can change the statutes in this Kingdom of Eswatini. “Akusiko Ka-Logoba, akondliwa ngulube yinye lapha please.”

Greediness and selfishness

This is pure greediness and selfishness for the ex-MPs to want to be elected again. This country is where it is today because of their dismal failure to enact laws that can benefit the whole populace. All we know is that the first thing they talk about is their salaries and benefits; they want  to talk about their salaries to be raised to be at par with their counterparts in neighbouring South Africa as if our economical strength is the same and yet we are trailing miles away from them. I am talking of enacting laws here not this garbage of donating second hand blankets to the needy, and buying of cheap coffins for bereaved families. We have had enough of that rubbish! Why don’t they make laws in Parliament which will make sure that everybody is well looked after in the country, even the bereaved poor families must be catered for by government. I mean it’s just not adding up as to why at this time of the year our parents are still getting peanuts meanwhile, they (MPs) drive big fancy cars?

Community development

I know very well that MPs do not know their role. Your role bekunene is making laws not community development, period. But then what can we expect from people who are well above prime age but still competing to be recognized as the best Swaziland has ever had? I tell you this is a cruel joke to say the least. Let us elect fresh minds into Parliament. What makes them think that since they failed in their last term, now they will be shining? No “nehluleka bekunene; period!  Give us a break please. The people in the constituencies must apply themselves when electing an MP. They must never be fooled by the handouts these gullible guys are giving them. They must think about what will happen to them when these guys can no longer afford to help them? Be wise Maswati akitsi. That time is over, finish en klar.
