SERVICE DELIVERY NOT PROPER

Mr Editor, it is so pathetic the way some of the things happen in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Some few weeks ago, we hosted the 50/50 double celebrations where it was said that every other service that government was expected to deliver should take the back seat to allow the 50/50 celebrations priority. Apparently, when one requested a grader, he was told that the only diesel left at CTA depot was reserved to fuel government vehicles that were busy during the 50/50 celebrations. My Goodness! It was surprising because that meant that our government was so much concerned about luxuries, extravagance in the celebrations at the expense of service delivery.  On another note Sir, I want to express my utter disgust and revolt against a very sad rape of a minor aged five in the Shiselweni Region. According to the report, it said a man grabbed and raped the girl who was with her mother. I can imagine the agony the mother went through as she called out for her child who was being raped.

Registration process

The worst part from what I gathered is that it was around 4pm when the incident occurred and the police were called in order to do an investigation, but to my shock and dismay it was reported that the mother said police were alerted but they said they couldn’t help because all their cars were assigned to the ongoing elections registration process. Now, the registration for elections is used as an excuse by the police?  It is pathetic to say the least because in my books, it is through this process that we will have useless MPs at the end of the day. I am saying so because we are currently having a serious challenge with our MPs who are struggling to pass the SODV Bill into law?  The questions that beg an answer is, ‘Why is the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) not hiring their own vehicles during elections instead of relying on police vehicles that in turn result in delayed service delivery. The police mouthpiece - Khulani Mamba even admitted in his predictable and casual way that: ‘No arrests have been made.’ Shame on the police and on EBC,
