THE WINE OF BABYLON

Sir,

“And upon her forehead was a name written, mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration,” Rev 17:5-6.

In Revelation 17 a woman is sitting on a beast with a cup of wine in her hand. John then noticed that she was drunk not from the wine in her cup but with the blood of the saints!
Modern Babylon, which is represented by this woman, is a system of religion that derived all its teachings and practices from ancient Babylon. Today this system uses idols in its worship. All its statues, images and religious icons revive the idolatry of ancient Babylon. Any system that incorporates images into its worship service and teaches the doctrine of the immortal soul is part of spiritual Babylon.

Babylon has an agenda: It wants many people to gather and attempt to fight God in Satan’s final push, which is known as the battle of Armageddon. For that to occur the mind must be less than sober, therefore, she uses the wine of her fornication to make people drunk.

One of the reasons why Babylon is fallen is because it made nations drink the wine of her fornication (Rev 14:8). In prophecy wine stands for false doctrine.
Spiritual Babylon’s principles run through many religious organisations today. They include looking to a visible, earthly head rather than Christ; any form of idol/image worship; a misunderstanding of what happens to people when they die; prayers to saints, veneration of dead loved ones and a man-made Sabbath.

The wine of Babylon is based on a counterfeit gospel; a counterfeit that lies close to the truth. The worship of the dead was common in Babylon; the concept of the immortal soul was at the heart of their worship.
The thought that we can communicate with our dead loved ones also comes directly from paganism. Dearly beloved, do not get drunk with the wine of Babylon. Demon possession occurs every time when the mind is less than sober.

In some of our modern churches, these false doctrines are coupled with very loud music and monotonous repetition of certain words combined with mindless speaking of gibberish that passes off as speaking the tongues of the spirit.
The result will be: the mind is stupefied and ideas are planted in the mind that are very difficult to erase.
We are living in the end times beloved friends, your very life is at stake. I plead with you: do not taste even a sip from the cup of Babylon.

Let’s read the Word of God and take Him at His word.
Beware of deliverers; some religious people invite us to healing and deliverance sessions where instant miracles occur.
Be rational and balance faith with facts. Ask questions, do not be satisfied to follow everything you are told. Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).
