“Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet,” Rev 16:13.

The book of Revelation describes one long war between good and evil. This war began in heaven (Rev 12:7), and is widely known as the great controversy between Christ and satan.

Revelation 12:17 gives us a nutshell summary of the whole end-time scenario; “The dragon was furious at the woman, and he went away to wage war on the remainder of her descendants those who obey God’s commandments and who have the testimony of Jesus.”

The dragon was furious and frustrated by his repeated failures. He was not strong enough to last in heaven (verse 8), he failed to destroy the man-child of the woman (verses 3-5), and he failed to destroy the woman herself (verse 16). So now all that is left is to wage war on the remainder of her descendants (verse 17).

Because of his repeated failures, the devil realises that he doesn’t have the required strength to defeat God’s purposes, so he decides to enter the final conflict with allies: a beast and the false prophet. So now God’s children are faced with three opponents: the dragon, beast, and false prophets.

In the Bible, God is often spoken of in threes: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). So the dragon, sea beast, and the false prophet would seem to be a counterfeit of the holy trinity. They portray themselves as an alternative to the true Godhead.

Revelation 16:14 says these frogs are “spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.” In Rev 14:6-12, we have three good angels with a mission to the whole world. Again we are met with two groups of threes, one trio calling the world to worship God, and the other gathering the people of the world into the service of the unholy trinity.

Three angels speak on behalf of the true God throughout the world, and three evil spirits speak on behalf of the demonic trinity throughout the world. In these last days it will be Trinity against trinity, and three angels against three demons.

“For there shall arise false christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders so that if it were possible they could deceive the very elect,” Mat 24:24.

In these last days, satan is going to bring in deception refined almost to perfection so that people will not be able to tell which side is right; whether they are dealing with Christ or satan. Dear reader, the scripture portrays the end-time as a time of great deception, the fact that someone performs miracles doesn’t mean that he/she is under the influence of the Holy Spirit, even if he/she mentions the name of the Lord.
