UNMASK CHARLES DAVIES’ MURDERERS

 Sir,

Today should have been my son Charles Davies’s 60th birthday but eight years ago at around dawn on Sunday May 30, 2010, gunmen entered his farmhouse at Thunzini, Nhlangano, and shot him at point blank range, once through the heart and twice through the back of his head, leaving him dead on his bedroom floor.

He had a substantial herd of Jersey cattle which produced milk and emasi which was sold in town and at the farm gate. Just a week before his murder (the previous Saturday evening), at about 9pm, there was an attempt to kill him while he was outside in the farm yard resettling his cattle for the night as someone had let them loose from the field. A number of gunshots were fired at him, narrowly missing his head. The police were called but found no one. This incident was clearly connected.

The killing of my son was not a robbery gone wrong, it was an assassination. None of his valuable herd went missing then and subsequently, only his handgun and some groceries were taken; these were incidental opportunistic thefts, not the motive. Nothing else was taken or disturbed in the house. He was their target and they came prepared with detailed knowledge of his daily routine and movements, the layout of his house and in which bedroom to find him.
I am asking for help from the people of the Kingdom of Swaziland to assist in unmasking not only the murderers but also those who ordered the killing and those who helped them. Someone reading this knows the truth of why Charles was murdered and who was involved.

At the time, I offered a substantial reward for information leading to arrests and convictions. The reward still stands and remains unclaimed.
