LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE

 Sir,

I would love to speak to the longing heart. First and foremost love is a need that no man should be deprived of whether by human beings or by nature itself.

A life deprived of love cannot be by any means compassionate, loving, care giving, social, considerate etc.  It can at worse grow to be rude, harsh, selfish, coarse and non tolerant to others. Notice we all have this quiet desire for love to be fully satisfied within us. God himself is desperate for love, out of all things he wants from man that he be loved. For it is said the greatest command of all is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart.”

But why? He has everything? It is because love is essential for every living thing to be productive. Dogs, cats, cows, trees, plants need to be loved before they can produce a good return for their carers.

The kind of love I speak of being relational love. I don’t speak of this Greek worded kind of love that requires theological explanations! I speak of the love that is missing within all of us needing to be satisfied.

The secret to receiving anything (including love) is to give of it abundantly. As you give freely of love to all, you are bound to receive of it according to your need for it.

Since we can’t give of what we don’t have, by nature Providence gave us a kind of love which when we give it can grow with our sharing of it. Give out that love within to receive of your need for it.
