RIGHT KIND OF FAITH

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; faith gives an assurance about things we cannot see.
We, human beings, lack what has been defined in the first sentence, we have the wrong kind of faith which always ends up in disappointment.

We go to the extent of using unholy things before we are assured it will happen.
We all have seen the wrong kind of faith especially in our Swazi football when big teams clash (we all know the extent they go to), some have faith that in murdering people (mostly people with albinism) you are going to be filthy rich; this is what I describe as the wrong kind of faith.

The right kind of faith is having faith in God and that what you ask in His name has already been granted, if you have any reluctance in what I’m saying then I’m going to be Santa for today and give your reluctance answers.

In Hebrews 11:2-31 we are given examples of faith where I am not sure if I would still have had faith if I had been in that situation. In the mentioned scripture we see Abraham obeying God when He told him to leave his home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. Abraham went without knowing where he was going and even when he had reached the Promised Land, he lived there by faith for he was like a foreigner living in tents.

It was also by faith that Sarah was able to have a child though she was barren and too old, but Sarah believed that God would keep his promise. It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac (his only beloved son) as sacrifice when God was testing him, but because Abraham had faith that God would raise him back from death, he then offered Isaac as sacrifice.

How much more do I have to say? The right kind of faith doesn’t have disappoints because God is involved; I guess that’s the reason my letter has been published because I had the right kind of faith.

So dear reader please try by all means to have the right kind of faith no matter how long it takes, no matter the situation you find yourself in; just remember that having faith in God has no disappointments while the wrong kind of faith has disappointments.
As I close I’d love to leave you with scriptures where faith has reaped good rewards for people; these are Matthew 8:5 and Romans 4:17.
