THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL

Sir,

In every age God has had a special message of ‘present truth’ for the world (2 Peter 1:12). For example, in Noah’s day God sent word that the flood is coming the only safety was to get into the ark.

In Revelation 14 we find three angels that carry important messages for our day.
The first angel is carrying the “Everlasting Gospel”(verse 6, 7).
While the second and the third angels offer further developments of the everlasting gospel. The word gospel means ‘good news’ or ‘glad tidings.’

The Gospel is the good news which brings to all people a message of hope:” that Christ died for our sins”(1 Cor 15:3). The title ‘everlasting gospel’ clearly shows us that the good news is not just found in the new testament but rather it is a grand theme of the whole Bible and it will be the eternal song of the saved. As a matter of fact, Revelation tells us that the Plan of Salvation was put in place even before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).This wonderful news is the Central theme of these final messages before Jesus returns.

The importance of these messages is made evident by the fact that the messages are to be proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue and people. This is an all inclusive message, everyone is included in God’s forgiving love.
He doesn’t want anybody to perish. This is a testing message that will bring every person in the world to a decision concerning their salvation.

Under this title a series of announcements are given by three angels: The first one says, “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Revelation 14:6-7)
The word fear means more than to be afraid, it also means to ‘revere’.

However, being afraid of God is a natural consequence of sin. Our first parents, upon realising their disobedience, they became afraid and hid from God. Thank God for the gospel for it is able to undo the effects of the fall.

As the messages of the three angels close, the Apostle John sees Jesus returning to harvest the earth. John sees a distinction between those who have accepted salvation and those who have rejected it. (Revelation 14:14-20. Dear Reader, the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).We deserve nothing but death, But Jesus took that sentence upon himself. He died in our place that we might be free from the slavery of sin and its wages of death. This is the wonderful news of the Everlasting gospel.

Whoever you are, wherever you are, the Bible has good news for you have a saviour. He was born, He lived and died for your sins.
He is risen from the dead and ever lives for your salvation. He loves you. Don’t live another second without personally embracing the gift of Christ’s death for your sin.
God bless you
