TSC SLEEPING ON THE JOB

Sir,

Allow me space to vent my disappointment in the way the TSC works these days. It seems like the whole Education system is heading for disaster.

Wouldn’t you agree with me that some of the big shots are making a joke of our Education system? This is the only country we have, the only education system too; our children need to find it intact. We value our Education, but the major question is: do they? I hope it goes down well with many that religious studies have been made compulsory - embracing Christianity.

The first term is about to be over but there are no new teachers in schools. Where is the hold up? The TSC is failing to replace teachers in some schools. What more have they failed to do?

You may be surprised that teachers who resigned many years ago are still drawing salaries from government. A few years ago the TSC sang a tune of ghost teachers and these ghost teachers are a result of laziness. Do we have to pay them ourselves to do the job or do we have to do the jobs for them? Some teachers are still being paid yet they left the profession many years ago. Who knows if they are alive or dead?

Can the TSC please pull up its socks and clean its mess. Its attitude leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, they want the best from teachers, but they are dismally failing to work with integrity. I doubt the word integrity exists in their vocabulary. One can resign from work and still draw a salary from government, yet the TSC is there.

As yet teachers are not deployed to fill vacant posts. Who is teaching the children in schools? While they sit and do nothing they should know they are destroying our country and our Education system.
