WHERE HAS REST OF THAT ‘BIG LOOT’ DISAPPEARED?

 Sir,

The E50 million fraud case is back in the news with a couple of those crafty individuals up for appeal. Amazingly this case took 10 years to get to court in which time the Crown’s key witness passed away, which led to just the three guilty parties charged, quite obviously they were the ‘master criminals’ behind the whole fraud story.

As one of the excused defendants pointed out, our legal system paved the way for their release from accusatory fingers and proves that the kingdom is well on the way to achieving Vision 2022 - Its Judicial system anyway, yes?
A case cleared in two weeks took more than 10 years to get into court, is that judicial efficiency?

No way forward with the other defendants until the keywitness has passed on leaving the only way forward as releasing them. I need to understand how this case could lay dormant for so long  as with the suspended judge who has been on full pay for 10 years and another more recent judge who is approaching two years on full pay, and there does not appear to be any finalising light at the end of the long, dark  tunnel where they are concerned either.
It was asked why the sentences to the three charged were so light? The judge tried not to be harsh, why? A crime of such magnitude and the judge finds the need for leniency?

He explained that these light sentences were given because they had already suffered during the 10 years waiting for the case to come to court. Perhaps those taking the fall were not actually at the heart of this scam? I would make a suggestion that these ‘master criminals’, however it has transpired, are taking the brunt of the fall because of the court’s failure to proceed with this case and allowing it to fester for 10 years. We all understand the longer a case takes to reach the courtroom the more likely key evidence will dissipate or disappear - as is with this case’s key witness which the judge said was critical to proceedings.

The latest article mentions a E3.5 million defraud so what about the rest of the E50 million, will the court, will anybody uncover any whereabouts? Ten years down the line and all the court has come up with is these three ‘master criminals’ and no news as to where the rest of that ‘big loot’ has disappeared??
