DE-CLUTTERING THE MIND

Sir,

As important as it is to de-clutter our homes, it is just as important to de-clutter our minds.  No mind can fully focus and concentrate on anything for any specific time if it is full.

To de-clutter the mind one must be able to stop the mind from time to time and focus on the space one occupies, listening to the sounds from outside the space and the sounds within the space itself. As certain people cannot meditate (which is simply thinking of nothing and focusing on breathing), de-cluttering can be done while jogging, working out or even carrying out a mundane exercise such as painting. This helps train the mind not to think, for it should be borne in mind that there is a difference between reality and what we think. What we think appears to be ‘the truth’ in our minds yet in reality it may not be the truth.

Panicking in case ‘something happens’ because we have experienced same in the past tends to bring about emotions, which not only drain one but make one believe one has totally lost control of a given situation. However, if one were to pause for a moment, take a deep breath, focus on the present, feel the energies that surround one, one will realise that what is in one’s head has not happened.

When we stop the mind and become observers of the mind we are in a position to ‘control our thoughts’. When we control our thoughts our blood pressure cannot rise, our heartbeat cannot become irregular for like jogging, one is pacing the distance to ensure that one maintains a certain rhythm to ensure one can jog the entire distance without stopping or running out of breath.

The habit of controlling mind and body seeps into all aspects of one’s life.  Even if one does not achieve the desired result instantly, one hangs in there believing that tomorrow will be another opportunity to try again. Someone who does not practice conscious jogging, working out or mind control will very quickly give up on their dreams.

Remember, your mind is like a room full of things. You cannot place in that room new things until you make space. If you can de-clutter your mind, deal with what has been holding you back, remove your fears of failure and think instead of everything that can go right, you will have made space for new and wonderful experiences in your life.

If your mind still has those repetitive draining thoughts, then the time has come for you to ‘get rid’ of all the fog that deprives you of being able to concentrate on a given task for certain periods of time. Get out of ‘routine’ and do things you have never done. When there is nothing inspirational in our thoughts how can we expect to have an extraordinary life?

Forgive those who have hurt or let you down. See the goodness in everyone and in every situation you encounter. Remember, even the Ascended Masters went through hardship, trials and tribulations so that they could become Enlightened Souls. To get to that elevated level of thinking they too had to work on the mind. You can do it! You are more powerful than you care to admit.
