NEGATIVITY NOT GOOD

Sir,

It is important to become an observer of one’s thoughts and actions.  If, for example, we leave the house rushing and shouting at the helper as we exit in the morning, more than likely, we will have a day which will snowball into one of the worst days in our lives.

Once negativity takes hold of one, very little, if anything, can snap one out of it unless one consciously chooses to flip their thoughts to vibrate at a different frequency. Although it takes a great deal of effort to do that, it is important to do it for, if we do not, we will find that everything others do just annoys us; we become impatient and intolerable and we vocalise things we later regret to the extent that all we want is to be left alone, and then when we are alone, we feel no one cares about us.

The unfortunate thing about negativity is that it cannot be contained. It seeps into every facet of our lives – it affects our health, our finances and our domestic lives because everything starts and ends according to what we feel.  The universe responds to our vibrations irrespective of what we may be portraying to the world. It is time to take cognisance of our thoughts and become observers of our thoughts.

We have to take responsibility for why we are feeling that way. Simply brushing it off and ignoring it will not permit us to overcome this feeling. We have to step out and move that body for when we do that, we give off endorphins which make us feel better. If we just play our favourite music and dance to it, this will get us out of that negative state.

There are people who are so miserable that they will argue about everything. Those people are best left to argue with those like themselves. If I come across those people, I immediately question myself on my emotions.

What was it that made me feel confrontational?  If it was something associated with my past, I remind myself that I am no longer that person and I have moved on and have made progress and thus the reason I chose to remove myself immediately from such company. We cannot walk about with a series of unfinished business for these pile up and eventually one explodes because of insignificant matters.

Recognise that you can choose to remain focused on the negative and believe the world is a miserable place and you have to be suspicious of everyone, or you can awaken to the reality that life is too short to focus on the negative and all your energies have to be directed towards achieving your goals and ambitions.

Life is all about choices, choose wisely! Take time off for you – get enough sleep; exercise that body; watch your diet; choose your friends carefully; expect nothing; do it because you can; stop comparing; live  in the moment always because what you thought was insignificant now will become a treasured memory.
