NOT ALL RELIGIONS ARE THE SAME

Sir,

Religion is defined as the belief in a supernatural power or powers. It can also be defined as a belief which is considered to be very important to a person or persons. The theory of evolution fits this description.

In my view, people should have the freedom to follow the religion of their choice as long as it does not infringe on the freedoms of others.
Many people, however, wrongly believe that all religions somehow worship the same God. This is far from the truth! Some religions worship several gods! The Bible tells us that there is only one God – the Almighty God. Some religions teach about rebirth or reincarnation. This is not what the God of the Bible teaches. Only satanic spirits have the need to reincarnate as they do not possess physical bodies like humans. The Bible teaches about resurrection, which means to be brought back to life from the dead just like Jesus or Lazarus (Thessalonians 4:13-14).

There are religions which mix the belief in a supreme being or beings with ancestral worship. The Bible explains that there is no such thing as ancestral spirits. Those who have died remain dead until they are resurrected by the Almighty God. What spirits are being worshipped because what communion can light share with darkness? Muslims believe that Jesus, like Mohammed, was just a mere mortal who was a prophet who died and still lays dead somewhere just like Mohammed.

They are of the view that the real messiah shall one day come to earth and make Islam the only religion and woe unto those who refuse to ‘submit’ to the religion. Islamic terrorist groups seem to be trying to impose those ideas on others, from Abu Sayef, in the Philippines to Boko Haram in west Africa.
The God of the Bible gives people a choice; either follow Him and accept His offer of salvation through the blood of His son Jesus Christ or follow others but know that those choices carry consequences.

The ‘new age’ religion which incorporates many teachings from the Eastern religions also claims that a messianic figure, whom they call the ‘christ’ will one day return from somewhere to unite all religions into a ‘single religion’ which every person will be ‘inspired’ to follow.

This is no conspiracy theory as some might think. In fact, there already exist various ‘world religion’ symbols which depict the religious symbols of all the major religions of the world combined.
This is clearly explained in the Bible as the events which would take place on earth during the last days.
