SOME MPS’ MANDATES ARE QUESTIONABLE, CONFUSING

Sir,

Indeed the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has got a big challenge in this country. And that is the challenge of teaching us how and why we elect MPs? Yes, they are trying but they still need to do more so that Swazis can understand what is going on.

Sir, by wrongly electing a Member of Parliament we turn to suffer for the next five years. We need to elect MPs who are not greedy and think for themselves. It’s so disappointing to learn that we have MPs who can stand in Parliament and move a motion of paying for plastic bags, be it 35 cents or whatever.

It is shocking and it is even worse when such laws do not have any positive clause for the penurious Swazis. It is even worse if such motions are moved by MPs who are from rural areas and have seen the plight of many people.
For people from Ngcoseni and Sicunusa, the reality is that it is hard for them to even buy half  a loaf of brown bread and then expect those people to pay 35 cents for each plastic bag that they may need.

Honestly guys let us go out there and elect true representatives who will know how to protect us. The same mover of this motion was the one who initiated the increase of bus fares knowing very well that Swazi citizens are poor and earn peanuts, mostly in the firms.

Now, you turn to ask yourself, kukhetfwani kani la? Allow me to remind our MPs that we have chosen them to represent us and to be our voice as electorates.

Once again thank you to the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament who opposed this and it shows that he is a person who represents not only the people of Lobamba Lomdzala but other Swazi citizens out there.
Indeed we are blessed to have such MPs as a country who know how most Swazis live than those we trusted and voted for.
