TIME TO DEAL WITH CRIME IN SWAZILAND

Sir,

Mr editor, please allow me to say this, we are not only citizens of this country, we are also taxpayers. Killing someone is not a solution. It creates even more problems for those you leave behind. Bail for killing is not good.

I think the Minister and National Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula should deal with crime instead of worrying about people who do not show remorse for their actions. These people should not be granted bail at all.

Problems are part of our lives. In life you reap what you sow.  They should rot in jail, murderers don’t deserve a second chance in our communities. Why give them bail?

How are we supposed to live with them? They have killed our loved ones.
We blame other people when things go wrong in our lives. What matters is knowing how to deal with them. It must be addressed.
The Minister should come up with solutions to tackle crime before our country is counted among those with a high number of murder cases.
It is very painful. MPs should also help come up with plans that will make people feel safer in their communities.

They are MPs because of taxpayers. To be honest, there are more downs than ups in life. Those who kill others deserve life sentences. Our Constitution should be amended to protect citizens from these senseless killers.
Our justice system is failing to punish these cruel thugs. Life is a challenge.

What is government doing about this? There is an urgent need for government to pay more attention to crime and it has to be done urgently. Please we want to see the end product. Investors will not dare invest in a country where the crime rate is too high.
Before I pen off , let me say it again, we must take care of the people who are working towards improving the economy of the country.

Edwin M.B. Dlamini
SANDLANE.
