THE FOOLISHNESS OF THE GOSPEL

Sir,

I was greatly humbled by Reverend JS Ndzimandze’s writing recently.
Indeed, the truth will set us free.

I must say, this world needs more people of your calibre, Sir. You have been the motivation behind this one, reverend. May the good Lord bless you. Ladies and gentlemen, we have read so many brochures, pamphlets, newspaper articles, self-motivational books, magazines and we have watched shows, news, success stories etc about ways of making our lives prosperous. Well, we have so much knowledge but we are still struggling.
We have engaged dozens of techniques but they are obviously not working. Clearly, there will not be any if God is not part of our lives.

With all the drama revolving around God’s existence, there is no better life you can live except the life of God.
My dear reader, prosperity is not measured by how much material possession you have. It is not about the flashy cars, beautiful houses and money but how much you know God.
He says in (Jeremiah 6:23), “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

Therefore, our gate to unprecedented success and eternal life is the knowledge of the father (God) as stipulated by (John 17:3).
Thabithi Anyabwile once said: “The world and the church’s greatest need is the gospel.” Ultimately, what you need is the gospel. You do not need material things but you need Jesus Christ. I know it has been preached to you over and over but there is no other way; only he can save you from all the troubles of this world.

Basically, this is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are saved, it is the power of God (1Corinthians 1:18). In short, we need the foolishness of the gospel and this foolishness of God will make you enter his kingdom, and most importantly preserve you from going to hell.

With all the frustrations, the hatred, the hurt and disappointments, there’s something God has in store for you. Genesis 48 talks about the story of Manasseh and Ephraim. Isaac was blessing these two sons of Joseph.
He put his right hand on Ephraim, who was the younger child and his left on Manasseh the older one. Joseph was angry at his father and he corrected his hands.  However, Isaac refused and said: “I know, my son, I know.”

He continued to bless Ephraim into being the father of a great nation. Where am I going with this? Here is your answer; God knows your needs more than you do. He says be still and know that I am God (Psalms 46:10). So, your family has rejected you, God says I know. Your children may be misbehaving, I know.
Your husband has changed for the worst, I know. You may be broke. You are an orphan, I know. You cry in your pillow every day, I know. You do not have food to eat, I know. You do not have money for school fees, I know.
Your relationships are not working, I know.

You have lost your job, I know. You have failed in your studies, I know. You may have been abused. Your church may not be growing. You may have been persecuted. The list goes on and on.  God is the architect of our lives, and he knows our pain and suffering.

Through all these hardships, he is building your character because to him character is more important than material things.
Someone may say, well, I want to but it seems like the most difficult thing to do. I will not lie to you, there is a price to pay. Who said it was going to be easy? It depends on how bad you want change in your life.  If you are desperate for success, then you ought to change.
You need to take responsibility for your own life and stop complaining about what you do not have and blaming God for it, more so because many people “ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.”(Proverbs 19:3).
You have tried everything but it is not working; just try my Jesus and you will prosper; guaranteed. Till we meet again, smile.
