MPS SHOULD KEEP THEIR PROMISES

Sir,

Please allow me to raise my concerns about some of the issues voters face. Some communities are without clean water, electricity or tarred roads.  Some are health hazards because they lack basic health facilities in their villages.
Parliament should prove that they are not rubber stamps but they are government watch dogs.

They are working in the interest of the country. They must respect their oath.
Schools are not safe because they are not properly built. While in rural areas head teachers are busy misusing fees. Some schools are not also unfit to be schools and would have to be demolished.
They need to take it upon themselves to clean-up house.

Schools in rural areas lack proper resources and the ministry responsible does not seem to care. They must come up with plans.
We need to see change in the rural schools.

It is our constitutional right to live in an environment that is not harmful to our health or well being. Some people are taking medication and for this reason they should live in a healthy environment without their health being compromised but today people care more about their positions than the people they represent.

In some of these schools pupils have to sit on the floor. Pupils still use bricks as chairs in their classrooms yet we pay good money every year to run the schools.
We are looking forward to a better education. School toilets are not in a good state and there’s no fence. Nothing is okay. We can no longer afford to pretend that everything is normal in Swaziland.

Since the beginning of these MPs’ term, nothing good has been done. They must take the peoples’ needs seriously.
Pupils still sleep on the streets and the disability grant has not been improved.
The list is endless. We need only the best solutions if we are serious about 2022. Who is headed there if things are not changing in Swaziland?

Edwin MB Dlamini, Sandlane
