WE NEED DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM SIKHUPHE TO EAST AFRICA

Sir,

I am writing to support the request of Kenyans living in Swaziland to their ambassador, concerning the need to have a direct flight from Sikhupe to Kenya.

I perceive that, when (not if, because it will definitely happen one day), when these flights start, those who will benefit are not only East African citizens  but also, Western, Central and Northen Africans, especially with the tightening of immigration laws in the Republic of South Africa making it difficult for most of us to access visas.

Even worse is the fact that, nowadays, it is now required to have a transit visa, even if you have to make a stopover of a few hours at the airport waiting for the next connecting flight. So, alternatively, travellers have to endure the long road to Maputo. This is not fair and is inconvenient.

Why can’t we have direct flights from here to Eastern, Central and Western Africa? It is possible! Any business starts small, to grow later. Yes, it is a business decision but businesspeople in the airline industry, don’t just look at the Southern Africa market.
There is a big potential market also for the other African routes. See beyond your borders! You will compete well. There is a big number of travellers to these regions. Bring us an airline, please! Thanks fellow Kenyans for raising this issue.

Your future passenger
Dr JEFF K MATHE
