PRIME MINISTER VS CHIEF JUSTICE

Editor,

I would have loved to remain silent about the spat between the two giants.

I saw it coming though. You see as a senior citizen and royalty, I would say ‘mudle ngweyakhe’. The crisis in the Judiciary dates to way back in the times of Adrinka Donkoh.

He was hailed as a true veteran when it came to issues of justice and law in the country but look at how he left the country? It’s all a shame to say the least, as our Judiciary is always taken for a ride.

Back to the spat between Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini and Michael Ramodibedi.
My dear readers, I must state that I don’t hold the prime minister in esteem to begin with, reason being that he has never respected the rule of law. Remember the infamous statement of November?

He made a mockery of our justice system that eventually belittled our King internationally. Why did he do that? What precedence was he setting? His Majesty the King was badmouthed locally and internationally because of Sibusiso.
Now it came to the recruitment of the chief justice. Ramodibedi was found to be a cut above the rest and later he was involved in unpleasant situations in his home country.

The same applied even in this instance, as His Majesty was given misleading information to the effect that Michael was doing a great job. It is the same Prime Minister, Barnabas who said “Yah, we have got a real man in Ramodibedi.” but ask yourself this; can he sing the same song?
I am being rhetoric here.  Now Barnabas has even gone to the extent of calling Ramodibedi ‘Bhova.’ Hawu!!
