LET POLICE SOLVE MALINDZA DEATHS

Editor.

What happed at Malindza refugees camp was very sad as it was reported that in the past few months or weeks two children have died after the tents where they slept caught fire and were burnt into ashes there were more questions than answers.

For instance, where were their parents during both incidences? Secondly, was the security lax or unwilling to protect the refugees? How could someone from outside come in and burn down two tents with children inside? Was the killing revenge or something else?

I appeal to the police to make proper investigations so that the perpetrators are brought to book to face charges associated with malicious, damages to properties and murder. What if no investigations were made? I fear that more refugees’ tents could be burnt down by arsonist!

Why do refugees stay in tents? I have been told that their original structures or houses were under renovations. How long is it going to take? I am glad that the High Commissioner for Refugees was aware of the chaos at Malindza refugees camp.
