LOBAMBA – Star studded Evelyn Baring got the shock of their lives when they went down 0-1 to Lobamba National High School during the finals of the Copa Coca Cola finals played yesterday.

Baring by Mbabane Highlanders’ striker Xolani Sibandze failed to find the back of the net despite displaying a near faultless performance during the match played at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The team boasting of a number of Premier League players in the likes of Mfanifikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze, Mlungisi ‘DJ’ Magagula all Mbabane Highlanders players and Mhlambanyatsi Rover’s Zakhele Khumalo was also booted out during last year’s finals by the same school.

Meanwhile Lobamba National who also played some good football outsmarted their opponents with their strong defensive skills and scored their lone goal through Malanti Chiefs’ stoutly built striker Nhlanhla Kunene just before the end of the first half of the game watched by an impressive crowd.

Despite Baring starting the second half like a house on fire, with Fash orchestrating every move, Lobamba defended resolutely to win the game. Baring were also frustrated by the agility of their opponents’ goalkeeper Ncamiso Dlamini, who was at his element best with breathtaking saves. Lobamba also defended like their lives depended on the game’s outcome and their efforts were rewarded when the referee blew his last.

The champions, Lobamba National took home the E20 000 for their efforts, while Baring received E10 000 for managing second best.
