MBABANE – Minister Ntuthuko Dlamini has promised a Commission of Inquiry into the removal and compensation of residents affected by the Mbabane-Ngwenya Highway construction.
This follows demands by fuming residents who were displaced by the road construction who said there was something wrong in the way the whole process was conducted.
Dan Mavuso, a resident, said the inquiry would help unearth a lot of irregularities and further open the minister’s eyes in as far as corruption and deceit among his officials are concerned. “The people in your ministry and those who have gone left a lot of problems behind and these could be revealed if an inquiry could be commissioned.
“We would like to assure the minister that we are ready to provide information as we are the ones who know exactly what has been happening,” Mavuso said.
The minister promised that the inquiry would indeed be commissioned or alternatively the matter referred to the Parliament portfolio committee for action.
