MBABANE- Former Mbabane Swallows’ Nigerian defender, Ifeanyi Ezewudo has been stopped from training with Mbabane Highlanders.

After being off-loaded by Mbabane Swallows, Ezewudo packed his bags and set sights on joining arch rivals, Mbabane Highlanders last season.

Sources within the team have said the player was told by Highlanders’ head coach, Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati that he should stop training with the team because his services were not needed.

"He was told by the coach that he should not come to train with the team and should start looking for a team with immediate effect," said the source.

Vilakati confirmed the reports that he stopped the player because he is not in his plans for this season.

"It is true I have stopped him from training with the team because he has no contract. I told him to start looking for a team maybe he will be lucky to get a contract. What is the point of keeping a player in the team when he will not be signed," he said.

The team’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Dumisani Sibandze said he was not informed about the matter. However, he said it was up to the coach whether he requires the player’s services or not.

"It is up to the coach whether he likes the player or not. What I know is that the player was training with Mbabane Highlanders, trying his luck like others," he said.
