Ntuthuko hauled to court for E31 000 debt

MBABANE – Ntuthuko Dlamini, the Minister of Public Works and Transport has been taken to court for an over E31 000 debt.


The minister was ordered to appear before the High Court on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 9.30am by Universal Panel Beaters and Spray Painters.


The company, in March 7, 2003 obtained judgement against Dlamini for the payment of E31 328 plus costs which have been taxed in the sum of E6 295.09 and interest thereon at the rate of nine per cent per annum calculated from the date of judgement to date of final payment.
The details of the actual transaction between the minister and the company were not explained in the papers filed by Universal Panel Beaters and Spray Painters.


“. . .whereas the said judgement remains unsatisfied at the date hereof.
Now, therefore, the judgement debtor, an adult male of Lamgabhi area, Bhunya, Manzini who is employed by the Swaziland Government as Minister of Public Works and Transport is hereby called to appear before the honourable court on May 15, 2009 or soon thereafter as the matter maybe heard and to produce such documents as may be necessary in order that the court may investigate the financial position of the judgement debtor,” reads the court papers in part.


Should Dlamini fail, without good cause to appear as aforesaid, he maybe personally attached for contempt of court, according to the court papers.
Details of the agreement between Dlamini and Universal Panel Beaters and Spray Painters could not be obtained during the compilation of this report.
