MBABANE – Qethu-ka Dlamini, the renowned praise singer to His Majesty King Mswati III, is currently indisposed.

Dlamini, according to Sister Jones, suffered a mild stroke sometime last week and was rushed to the Mbabane Clinic. Sister Jones is not only a nurse attached to the royal family but a member of the Ludzidzini Council, whose chairman is Governor Jim Gama.

Sister Jones, in an interview yesterday, said Dlamini, whose other name is Sigombeni, had been transferred from the Mbabane Clinic to a certain clinic in Pretoria, South Africa.

She said it was on Tuesday when she elected to transfer Dlamini, who is a soldier by profession, to SA.
“To speed up the recuperating process, it was felt he should be moved to a clinic in South Africa,” said Sister Jones. “He’s currently responding well to the administered treatment.”

The royal nurse said the praise singer was slowly but surely on the road to recovery.
“He’s now trying hard to walk slowly all by himself without any form of assistance,” she said confidently.

Stress
She said she was not sure what might have led to the praise singer suffering the stroke, except that it was stress-related.
Sister Jones said it was still early to have an idea as to when Dlamini would be discharged.
Jones said Dlamini was accompanied by his wife, Inkhosikati LaMatsenjwa.
He, due to the illness, missed His Majesty King Mswati III’s birthday celebrations held at the Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday.
The king turned 41 years on the day.
