Matsapha- The Sport Olympic Council of Swaziland (SOCS) announced changes earlier this week to officials accompanying the team to the Zone Six games in Potchefs-troom, South Africa.

In announcing the changes during Monday evening’s farewell function held at Esibayeni Lodge, SOCS acting Chief Executive Officer Dan Mavuso said the Council was happy to announce the final list of officials, managers, coaches and athletes that would be leaving for the Zone 6 games.

"I thought it would be of importance to clarify that amongst the list, some have already left."

Also present to wish the officials and athletes well was the Minister of Sports, Arts and Youth Affairs Hlobisile Ndlovu.

The changes within the officials have seen Chef de Mission Maxwell Jele being replaced by Darius Dlomo.

The General Team manager position previously occupied by Dlomo, now moves to former Administrative Officer Mduduzi Masuku.

SOCS President Zombodze Magagula will no longer be travelling with the delegation and Sipho Magagula will remain on as a Government Official.

With the changes in the team, Thoba Mazibuko replaces Sibonisile Maziya as athletics coach, with Thulani Magongo, who was previously the team coach, is now the team manager. Mazibuko recently returned from a coaching course in Germany where he took top honours as the best in the business.

In Netball, RSP’s coach Jabulani Mkhaliphi replaces Catrien Potgieter who resigned as coach last month. Work commitments meant Correctional Services Thobile Nzama also had to withdraw from the games.
