MBABANE - One of South Africa’s newest and highly sought after artist and performer Siphokazi is willing to work with local artists.

The jazz and Afro-soul singing sensation, who will be facilitating a music workshop today at the Convention Centre, said she wanted to work with a lot of African musicians. She was responding on whether or not she was ready to work with Swazi based artists.

"There are so many African musicians I would like to work with and yes if there is a musician in Swaziland that I click with and love what he or she does, I will collaborate with that musician either in her or his album or mine," she said, adding: "What I like to do is to bring upcoming musician/s from a town or city where I am performing to come on stage and perform with me in some of my songs. That usually makes them feel good and inspired."

Sensation

The jazz sensation will also be appearing tomorrow at the same venue during a private function hosted by the Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC).

"I have collaborated with Zuluboy on his first Hip Hop album and I can tell you the combination is good," she revealed.

Siphokazi sounded ready and willing to get to work immediately. "If you have any musician in Swaziland busy recording an album and willing to collaborate I am ready.   They can just call my record label and start talking," she said.

About music workshop

Speaking about today’s workshop, Siphokazi said she expected to deal with topics covering a variety of issues affecting those in the music industry. "I will share a lot with aspiring young musicians, focusing on but not limited to personal growth, music career as a business and how one can cope in this industry and sustain his or her music career," stated.

Though she invited all to attend the workshop, she did not conceal her bias towards the fairer sex and youths when she said she would love to see more of them attending the workshop. Siphokazi also talked about the possibility of a jam session during the course of the workshop and also urged those who would attend to bring their instruments with them.
