MBABANE – Miss Cultural Heritage Swaziland Nkosing’phile Dlamini is no longer going to the Miss Cultural Heritage pageant finals originally scheduled for this Saturday in Windhoek, Namibia.

This is because the finals have been postponed to early next year, according to the local director of the pageant Sifiso Xaba. He said they were informed about the postponement about two weeks ago.

Asked about the reason behind the shifts of the date, he said that would be clarified in a press statement they were yet to receive from the office of the international director of the pageant in Namibia.

"We are happy about the turn of events though because it will give us enough time to source for more sponsorship and prepare well for the finals," he said. Xaba also stated that the lack of sponsorship forced him to finance the recent launch of the pageant in the kingdom from his own pocket.

Potential

He said now that the finals had been deferred, he would take the former Miss Swaziland to South Africa to meet potential sponsors.

The pageant was launched about three weeks ago at Etulu Cultural Village. The Swaziland National Arts and Culture Council (SNCAC) Vice Chairman Bongani Mamba last week called the pageant a ‘stokvel’, and Xaba responded firing from all cylinders yesterday.
