LOBAMBA – Mbabane Highlanders’ coach, Happy Simfukwe says his team needed to win at all costs against Rovers as anything less would have demotivated his players.

Interviewed after the match, Simfukwe said he was happy with the work ethic displayed by his players, and the final result was a good reward for their efforts.

"In a good match, the decisive goal is scored right at the death, and that’s exactly what happened here. Credit goes to my players because they deserved to win after working so hard, especially in the second half," he said.

The coach admitted that his team was not at its best, and he attributed this to a good performance by Rovers.

"I would like to plead with our supporters, and every member of the team to support any player that is on the pitch. We missed a couple of players for this game, but those who came in did a very good job," he said.

Notably, Highlanders missed Msizi Lukhele and Eugene Dlamini through injury.

Meanwhile, Mhlambanyatsi Rovers’ coach, Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini said his team was unlucky to lose the match.

Rovers conceded a last gasp goal after playing much better than their opponents for larger portions of the game. "If you are in the process of building a team, you have to expect such things. However, I also felt that the referee did not do justice to the game by allowing Highlanders’ fans to put him under pressure," he said.

The coach further pointed out that they would have to accept the result and move forward. He said it was not a bad performance from the team, and he was confident they would improve.

Rovers lost 0-1 to Mbabane Highlanders who have jumped to fourth spot with ten points in six games. They now trail leaders Royal Leopards with three points.
