Three arrested for E20 000 robbery at Express Cargo

MBABANE – Three men who allegedly robbed E20 000 from Express Cargo in Matsapha were last week arrested by Sigodvweni police.

The arrest of Gcina Sifundza (22) of Mvembili, Robert Chicken Thomo (33) and Nathi Ngwenya (18) both from Mbikwakhe happened last week Sunday at Mbikwakhe.

The trio’s modus operandi was by using a Star pistol to rob businesses and people around Matsapha Industrial sites and Ludzeludze.

Express Cargo is said to have been the only company they allegedly visited armed with a pistol and went away with E20 000 in cash.

At Ludzeludze they are said to have pounced on three people at night and robbed them of their cellphones at gunpoint.

It is said that the same group struck at Good News Store situated at Boyane and stole three cellphones valued at E2 000 and E2 000 in hard cash.

As the affected people would report to the nearest police station, which is Sigodvweni – the police investigated all the reported crimes and finally made arrests last week Sun- day.

A Star pistol was found with the suspects at Ludzeludze and was loaded with five live rounds of ammunition.

The suspects have already appeared at the Manzini Magistrates’ Court and they are facing charges of armed robbery and possessing a firearm and live rounds of ammunition without a lice- nce.
