MBABANE – South African national team Bafana Bafana’s 0-3 loss to Uruguay has made their chances of qualifying into the second round very slim.

It will now take a miracle for them to make the last 16 in the tournament gracing the African soil for the first time, especially since they are still to meet title contenders France.

In an interview with some of the local Premier League players, they agreed that Bafana Bafana’s chances of qualifying are next to zero.

"I honestly believe South Africa is no match for France. Them making it into the next stage seems impossible but they can hope that the match against Mexico and France works to their advantage," said Malanti Chiefs striker Sandile Motsa.

Sharing the same sentiments was Mbabane Highlanders defender and captain Mlungisi ‘Madzala’ Ngubane, who said South Africa’s hope lies in the future of the other teams in their group.

"All they need to do is pray that Mexico draws with France. However it will still be hard for them because their match against France will be very tough and their chances of winning are not so good," he said.

Meanwhile Umbelebele Cosmos skipper Celani Dlamini said Bafana Bafana’s performance was not promising. " The way they play is not impressive and even if they proceed to the second round, which is unlikely to happen, that will be the end of the road for them," he said.

Commenting is just part of life but nothing's gonna change here, as you can see Mexico trounced France with an unexpected score, competition's tough here, Bafana bafana together with the other African teams except for Ghana are simply an embarassment to us. One would've thought that the teams from abroad are only good when they're playing in their respective continents, but hey, the answer is NO! These people have already proved to us that there' no magic and they're hardworkers too, they're displaying their remarkable skills right here in 'Mzansi now' and WE ARE FEELING IT, THEY'RE HERE, nothing comes easy.
