MBABANE – South African born Manzini Sundowns mentor Kenny Ndlazi is set to be the highest paid coach in the local elite league as he will net a healthy E20 000 salary a month during his term with the Kappa Boys.

The coach will replace First Division side, Manchester United’s coach Thabo Koki Vilakati as the highest paid coach who was enjoying a E9 000 salary a month.

The coach, who joined the team six games before the league round up to assist them in gaining promotion to the elite league, was reportedly paid E30 000 for his services in Sundowns’ quick return to the elite league.

Information gathered is to the effect that the coach will also enjoy E500 winning bonuses for every match in addition to his salary.

The coach recently signed a one year contract with the Manzini based outfit and has shown interest in signing new players to beef up the team in preparation for the forthcoming season.

Some of the players on the coach’s wish list are former Orlando Pirates striker Gilbert Mushangazike, Zimbabwe’s Caps United first choice goalkeeper Matthew Sibanda and Moroccan striker Alain Tona. In the local arena, the coach has shown interest in Manzini Wanderers’ goalkeeper Sandile Ginindza, Mbabane Swallows’ midfielder Stanford Ncube and out of contract goalkeeper Sitali Mulife, amongst others.

In an interview with the coach yesterday, he said it was true that they had finalised his contract with the team.

He, however, said he was not going to reveal the financial aspects of the contract and directed all queries to his Manager Ernest Fakude.

"We have agreed on the contract but nothing has been signed yet as it was a verbal agreement. I am not sure of the salary part of it as Ernest is dealing with that issue," he said.

Meanwhile, Manzini Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa said there is a confidentiality clause in their contract and for that reason would not be in a position disclose the coach’s salary to other parties.

"It is true that the coach will earn a monthly salary from the team, however our contractual agreements do not permit me to say how much he will receive as that is between the two parties involved," he said.
