MBABANE – The future looks gloomy for long serving Manzini Regional Football Associations (MRFA) Secretary Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza and Chairman Bheki Mkhonta.

This follows the decision by the region’s eight associations to snub the nominations ahead of the general elections to be held possibly in July. The list of nominees from the nine regional leagues under the Manzini region will be officially opened this morning.

Their only hope at the moment could be the Mafutseni Regional League whose nominees were still not known by the end of business yesterday.
However, the statics point to former Mbabane Highlanders winger Phumuza Ntshangase as the next chairman after he was nominated by four of the eight associations that had submitted.
An MRFA employee looks set to become the next secretary general after getting seven of the eight nominations so far.
This means that the region would usher in a completely new regime in office. Kwaluseni MP Mabhanisi Dlamini, who is leading the campaign for the regime change in the region, has promised to transport teams from Kwaluseni to the election venue.

“It is time to take ourselves out of Egypt and that would be by entrusting the game to people with integrity. We have suffered enough and it is time we embrace changes,” he said.
He was echoed by Manzini Super League nominee for the vice chairman post Mandla ‘DJ Nice’ Dlamini who has vowed to bring changes in the region’s football.

“For a long time we have nominated people who have no interest for the teams, but I believe I am qualified to be part of the region’s leadership because I am leading a team that is winning,” he said.
Siboza said he was only going to comment after he had seen the nominations.
“In football you are only nominated by the people for the job that you have done. I won’t say anything until after the nomination. But one thing I know is that the people have to decide,” he said.

The two officials have been openly criticised by a number of people following the endless controversies that have characterised the operations in the region in the past years.
