NHLANGANO -A Mpanza family at Mathendele Township has expressed concern over the constant visit by chameleons to their homestead.
The worrying aspect is that the chameleons not only roam around the homestead but dig holes and deposit their eggs.
A total of five chameleons have been constantly visiting the homestead and laying eggs inside the premises, much to the worry and bewilderment of the Mpanza family.
Musa Mpanza said his family was puzzled by this odd occurrence such that they contemplate consulting traditionalists to explain it.
Mpandza said it was around 10am on Monday when he noticed a chameleon digging a hole inside his homestead.
He said this aroused his interest as he had never seen such but was shocked when four more chameleons were spotted doing the same thing in his homestead.
All five are said to lay hundreds of tiny white eggs and filled the holes with the eggs and further buried them.
The chameleons are said to have disappeared thereafter.
However, Mpanza said the chameleons resurfaced the next day, raising more questions on why they chose his homestead.
“The situation at home became tenser when the four other chameleons were spotted inside the homestead. If only it was one chameleon, it would be better,” Mpandza said.
He said his family was confused by this and would consult traditiona-lists.
