MANZINI – DJ Sbu once again proved to revellers that he was a cut above the rest during his performance at Club Le Zone on Saturday night.

The spinner, who was in the country less than two months ago for a show at Mavuso Trade Centre during the intervarsity games, revealed on the night that he was leaving popular radio station Yfm.

The spinner took over the decks after performances by the club’s resident deejays Cheese, Six 9 and Mavree at about 1.30am. He was dressed in stylish red pants and a purple top. The deejay appeared to be calm and danced along to his selection of commercial house music. He began with popular club banger ‘Fairytale’ by Liquid Deep and sent the crowd into a state of excitement. Both the dance floor and V.I.P sections of the club were packed to capacity such that it was difficult to manoeuvre.

The crowd responded well to the deejay’s music as he would also interact with them using his famous lines ‘hhoy hhoy’ and ‘akulalwaaa’. After his ‘hot’ two hour set the deejay advised the youth against wayward behaviour and talked about the importance of having protected sex. He also said  he was leaving Yfm because he believed it was ‘time to move on and give others a chance’.

The deejay explained that he started working for the station nine years ago when he was just 20 years old.
DJ Lady Cream took over the decks after the spinner’s performance and he sat down behind her as he sipped on an energy drink. He sat there for a while, with his assistant Trevor Madondo and took pictures with his excited fans.

... he arrives in Audi A3
DJ Sbu arrived in a luxurious Audi A3. Few weeks ago he publicly declared that he did not own a car as he had given away his Porsche for charity. On Saturday, the spinner came chauffeured in a silver Audi A3 model with his assistant Trevor Madondo from his popular breakfast show at Yfm. The spinner also declared that he was ‘in love’ with Swaziland. “I have got Swazi genes as my mother is a Khumalo. I always feel honoured when I get an invitation to come and perform here,” he said.
