MBABANE- The country’s DJs are not happy with the fact that most of them have not been selected for the much anticipated third Umdabula Festival which is slated for May 1.
This newspaper reported two weeks ago that only two spinners DJ X-Tra Luv and Mr 505 have been included and this has not gone down well with others who voiced out their opinions about the issue on the social network Facebook last week.
The event which was last held in 2007 in Lavumisa is hosted by Mbekezeli Zulu who is based in South Africa and the last time it was held, it featured locals such as DJ Peace and Foster and DJ Zoe amongst others plus a number of South African stars who included sexy dancers Chomee and Kelly Khumalo.
Hopes
In an interview with Peace, he played his cards close to his chest and mentioned that he hopes the list is still going to be perfected.
“I think whoever did that list has reasons but I really hope there’ll be new developments because I want to believe it’s not the final list. I have no beef with anyone but I just hope the article that came out in the paper was just a way of promoting the show, “he said.
Big Fun’s Khulekani ‘Karly B’ Mamba also admitted that he was surprised by the list and said even though he knows that they cannot dictate for the promoter, he also hopes it’s not the final one.
Expect
“I look at this thing in two ways first as a DJ and then as a promoter. So I can confirm that it’s true that we expect local DJs on the list so we do have questions with what appeared in the paper but we cannot make the rules for the promoter because he will invest his own money in the show so he can choose anyone he wants, “he said.
