MBABANE – The Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) says Miss Swaziland Director Vinah Mamba-Gray should not fear, as they do not want to take her licence.

The council’s CEO Stanley Dlamini said the probe into affairs of the national pageant was not initiated to strip Mamba-Gray her Miss Swaziland Licence.
Through this licence she recently renewed her contract with the Miss World organisation and is the only one authorised to take Miss Swaziland to the global event.

Declared

The pageant’s committee spokesperson Rheodora Isaacs and Mamba-Gray refused to re-appear before the probe team last week, citing that following their first appearance they felt the probe was a strategy by SNCAC to eventually take away their licence.

“We even called a media briefing where we publicly declared the terms of reference which stated that this was not a witch-hunt but a way to find the loopholes that have led to some of the problems concerning the pageant. The SNCAC is neutral in this issue and the terms of reference succinctly show this fact, we are not out get anybody,” he stated.

Dlamini further stated that they had opened the forum for anybody with grievances with regards to the investigation to make them known but no body came through.

However, Dlamini pointed out that the committee’s reluctance to reappear for the probe was a sign that there was indeed something wrong with the pageant.
Nonetheless, he said they were still waiting for the committee to come back even though they were now wrapping up the probe.
