King joins warriors

LUDZIDZINI – Hundreds of regiments were yesterday joined by His Majesty King Mswati III who blessed the dancing of the Little Incwala ceremony.

Beaming with a smile as he joined the regiments, the king’s presence seemed to give them more energy as they sang and danced.
This was the second day of the Little Incwala.

The regiments appeared to enjoy the dances, despite the heat, as they would now and again jump a step forward and do the giya dance.
As culture dictates, weeks before the event, the king stays behind closed doors and joins the regiments on the second day of the national prayer.

The Queen Mother, Emakhosikati, members of the royal family, parliamentarians, Cabinet ministers and emabutfo’s attendance was quite impressive.
Various cultural songs spiced up the event, which continued until the evening with the closing sacred song ‘Inqaba kanqofula’.
The ceremony continues this afternoon.
