He overcame the more than 30 golfers on 147 gross while the runner up was J. Mabaso who scored a gross of 157 in the A Division. The tournament was played on Sunday at the Royal Swazi Golf Club.

The prestigious tournament was of vital importance to a large number of the A Division players, as it marks the start of the official points race qualification for the national team to take part in the annual Zone VI tournament.
In the B Division, J. Gamedze won in a gross of 178 followed by Mpheni Dlomo in a gross of 180 while J. Khumalo was third with a gross of 182.

Royal Swazi Sun Golf club captain George Falcomer thanked both Standard Bank and Sun International for the invaluable support in sponsoring the tournament. He said Golf Director Steven Berg and the green keeper Jerome Sukati played a big role in making sure that the tournament is a great success.

“The course was in great playing condition while it was hit by rains before the tournament. We recorded a full field on the day and it was great,’ he said.
