Times Of Swaziland: ZAKHELE MYENI NEW ESSA PRESIDENT ZAKHELE MYENI NEW ESSA PRESIDENT ================================================================================ Machawe Fakudze on 18/11/2023 06:54:00 MBABANE – There is a new sheriff in town. That is the Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA), which has a new President in Mphelandzaba High School’s Zakhele Myeni. The Mphelandzaba High School teacher was elected the new president of the association early this month. He takes the hot seat which was previous occupied by national team Sihlangu assistant coach Anthony Mdluli. Myeni confirmed the latest development, saying the association went to polls to elect a new executive on November 3, 2023. “It is true that I am the new president of Eswatini Schools Sports Association and I will be leading a team of five members,” Myeni said. He revealed that their main objective was to bring schools back to organised sports, after witnessing that they now preferred stovels. “It is also our mandate to bring more primary schools in games, as we have noted that they were not participating the way we want them to do,” he said. Myeni said they were made aware by some of the schools that they were facing monetary challenges in participating in some of the games, but was hopeful that they would try and bring the games near to them. Finally, he thanked the previous executive, which was led by Mdluli for the good job they had done for schools during their term.
