Times Of Swaziland: EFA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR IN BRAZIL EFA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR IN BRAZIL ================================================================================ Sports Reporter on 26/05/2023 09:22:00 MBABANE - Eswatini Football Association’s Technical Director Bhekisisa Mkhonta has been selected as one of 25 participants for prestigious international course. That is the Federation of International Football Associations’ new Technical Leadership Diploma launched in Brazil on May 11, 2023. Bhekisisa Mkhonta joined other selected technical leaders from member associations and confederations from around the globe at the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) Training Complex in Rio de Janeiro for block one of the 18 month-long course. The FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma aims to become the ‘globally recognised qualification’ for technical leaders working in the game and will prepare participants for the distinct challenges and opportunities faced by a technical leader within a member mssociation. According to a correspondence shared by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), at least five core domain areas will be covered. They include technical leadership, high performance, coach education, amateur football and management. “I am hounored and humbled to be a participant of this impressive programme. I would also like to thank and recognise the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for entrusting me to be the technical leader of the EFA. “This programme will immensely enhance my growth as the technical leader of the EFA and the football industry in general. Indeed, education is power and I’m confident that this empowerment will develop football and assist me to be a more efficient technical leader of the football association,” said Mkhonta. EFA Chief Executive Officer Frederick Mngomezulu acknowledged FIFA’s efforts in developing football around the globe. “This sport is very much scientific and dynamic and in order to be always relevant, education is significant. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Technical Director of the EFA, Mr. Bhekisisa Mkhonta for being chosen by FIFA and the other participants of this maiden Technical Leadership Diploma. “This is a milestone as this programme will enhance our technical leaders as they execute their duties and responsibilities; technical development being a core and vital responsibility in the respective football associations and the maturity of football in general. Once again, thank you FIFA for your exertions of making football truly global in all sectors and I wish the participants the very best of luck as they pursue their studies under this wonderful programme,” said Mngomezulu. Over the last few years, FIFA has been working closely with member associations to develop a number of programmes, such as the Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
