Times Of Swaziland: MASOCHA OUT AT ’DOWNS MASOCHA OUT AT ’DOWNS ================================================================================ Nimrod Hlophe on 09/12/2022 08:48:00 MBABANE – Hub side Denver Sundowns are one of the teams to have changed as many coaches per season in the country. However, this time around it came as a surprise that Ikabort Masocha has since resigned from the team as they appeared to play good football with him at the helm. The Zimbabwean mentor, who arrived here through Tambankulu Callies last season, is said to have resigned last week. His team, through a press statement yesterday morning, confirmed the latest news. “The resignation was tendered last week Friday and is due to circumstances, which are beyond his control and require his undivided attention and therefore, we have agreed to allow the coach to leave and sort out his personal issues,” read part of the press statement. The press statement was released by Sundowns Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elvis Dube, who was also grateful for his service. Masocha has been drilling the team throughout the week and yesterday afternoon handed over the reins to former Seven Dreams coach Gcina Dlamini. The Zimbabwean coach left Sundowns at the ninth spot with two defeats, four draws and a single win. Meanwhile, Dube confirmed that Ikappa Kappa have entered to a verbal agreement with former Moneni Pirates, Manzini Sea Birds and Seven Dreams gaffer Gcina Dlamini to take over the hot seat. “It’s a done deal with Gcina. The two parties are working on his contract after a verbal agreement,” Dube briefly confirmed. Dlamini is expected to lead Sundowns against third placed Correctional side, Green Mamba in an MTN Premier League match billed for Mavuso Sports Centre tomorrow.
