Times Of Swaziland: EX-SWALLOWS COACH JOINS ZESCO EX-SWALLOWS COACH JOINS ZESCO ================================================================================ Machawe Fakudze on 09/12/2022 08:46:00 MBABANE – Former Mbabane Swallows Zambian gaffer Honour Janza has joined Zambia top side ZESCO United. Janza, who once served Zambia national team, Chipolopolo as head coach, has been appointed the Technical Director (TD) of the state owned electricity supplier ZESCO United for the next three years as he signed a three-year contract yesterday. Quoted by Radio Icengelo, when announcing the appointment of the erstwhile Swallows coach, club Chairman Maxwell Saya said Janza was a highly qualified manager, who has worked at the highest level of African football and was coming with great credentials. “We are positive his vast experience in the game will enhance football development at different levels of the club,” Saya was quoted. The former Mbabane Swallows mentor was the last coach to qualify his native country for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2015, with every coach coming after him failing to achieve that feat. The Zambian parted ways with the red and white capital giants barely a year after joining them, as he requested the team’s President Archbishop Bheki Lukhele to release him from his contract during the COVID-19 pandemic era. He had signed a two-year contract with the ‘Birds’. He was replaced by the now departed Ghanaian coach Christopher Ennin. The 62-year-old qualified Zambia with a game to spare in the group that had Cape Verde, Mozambique and Niger. He holds a UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence, a Confederation of African Football (CAF) ‘A’ licence instructor for the continent’s governing body.
