MBABANE – Defending champions Royal Leopard’s skipper Muzi ‘Mzoro’
Dlamini is not shaken by the team’s unconvincing start.
The Edwin Matsebula-led side are currently on a rough patch, as they are being
derailed in their quest to defend the MTN Premier League title. They have
recorded two wins in seven games. The police side suffered defeats to minnows as
this past weekend they were shocked 3-2 by rookies Madlenya. They were also
beaten by other rookies Nsingizini Hotspurs in round two of the fixtures. They
are currently on position 10 on the standings with seven points, trailing log
leaders Young Buffaloes by 11. The team’s captain Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini
said they would not press the panic button, as a league was a marathon and they
could still change their fortunes.
“We will bounce back and I would like to tell my teammates as the captain of
the ship that they must never give up. We shall overcome this someday,” the
former Mbabane Highlanders and Sihlangu winger said. He said as a side that was
used to winning, the current situation they were in would not dampen the spirit
in their camp. “I must say that the spirit is okay and we are not panicking.
We know that losing is part of the game and we will keep on trying,” he said.
He further said this had no negative impact to the new players, as they were
performing well and they always encouraged each other as a team to fight to the
end. Ingwe Mabalabala’s next game will be against Moneni Pirates tomorrow at
KaLanga Technical Centre starting at 2:30pm.
